Sachiko Akie

iShares specialist, South East Asia


Sachiko Akie, Associate, is an iShares specialist responsible for the distribution of iShares ETFs to South East Asian institutional clients. Prior to relocating to Hong Kong, she was a member of the Global Markets and iShares Sales teams in Japan, covering local regional banks.

Prior to joining BlackRock, Sachiko worked in equity marketing/research at Nomura Securities in Japan where she was responsible for disseminating research papers, driving sales of foreign equities and equities-linked derivatives, as well as speaking at private wealth seminars in Nomura branch offices across Japan.

Sachiko holds a Bachelor degree in International Business from Akita International University, Japan.

Ecaterina Bigos

Vice President, Head of iShares Fixed Income Strategy, Asia Pacific


Ecaterina Bigos, Vice President, is a Fixed Income Product Strategist and leads the APAC Fixed Income iShares initiative. She is responsible for developing and implementing the strategy to drive bond ETF adoption across client segments in the region, including product positioning and client engagement through sales channels. Ecaterina joined BlackRock’s London office in 2012 in a similar capacity and relocated to Asia in 2015. Ecaterina is a member of BlackRock's Women's Initiative Network Committee in Asia.

Before joining BlackRock, Ecaterina worked at UBS and Credit Suisse as a product specialist, responsible for beta access products such as index and sector swaps, bespoke baskets, and ETFs. Ecaterina began her career at Dresdner Kleinwort’s Corporate Solutions Group, focusing on Emerging Markets where she worked on projects ranging from simple flow trades to facilitate clients' medium term financing needs, to more structured financing solutions.

Ecaterina holds a Master in Finance from Cass Business School and a Bachelor degree from Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest.

Sebastian Born works as an Institutional Trader at Flow Traders in Hong Kong, a global liquidity provider specialized in Exchange Traded Products. He is looking after its institutional counterparties in Hong Kong. Prior to Flow Traders Hong Kong, Sebastian was working at Flow Traders’ headquarters in Europe in a similar role. He holds a MSc in Mathematics from Goethe University Frankfurt.

Connie Chan

Vice President, Head of iShares Asset Management Distribution Asia ex-Japan


Connie Chan, Vice President, is Head of iShares Asset Management Distribution Asia ex-Japan at BlackRock. In addition, she also oversees the iShares ETF distribution for Hong Kong based institutional clients and family offices.
Prior to joining iShares in 2010, Connie worked on the Equity Sales Trading desk at Daiwa Capital Markets, covering Asset Managers in Hong Kong and Taiwan. Prior to this role, Connie worked on the Equity Derivatives sales desk at Société Générale.
Connie holds a Master of Business Administration from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, as well as a Bachelor of Economics and Finance degree from the University of Hong Kong and Keio University in Japan.

Geir Espeskog

Managing Director, Head of iShares Asia Pacific distribution


Geir Espeskog, Managing Director, is the head of Blackrock iShares Asia Pacific Distribution. In his role, he is responsible for driving the growth of Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) and guiding clients in both the institutional, asset management, and wealth space on how best to utilize ETFs in their investment portfolios.

Geir joined Blackrock in 2010 as head of BlackRock's iShares Nordics business in London before moving to Copenhagen in 2011 when the firm opened a local office there, and he transferred to Hong Kong to head up the distribution for iShares Asia Pacific in 2015. Before joining Blackrock, Geir was responsible for building a Scandinavian and Dutch derivatives flow business at Barclays Capital. Prior to this, he has held a similar positions at both Merrill Lynch and Goldman Sachs. Geir has extensive equity derivatives knowledge, having looked after clients who were amongst the largest pension funds, mutual funds and insurers in Scandinavia and Holland.

Geir holds a Master of Science degree in Finance and Computer Science from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.

Adam Grabow

Vice President, Institutional Business Development, Asia


Adam Grabow is the Vice President, Institutional Business Development, Asia.  In this role, he is responsible for Institutional Business Development throughout Asia for Morningstar’s Equity Research, Manager Research, Investment Management and Strategic ("Smart") Beta solutions.

He was transferred to Asia from his previous role at Morningstar Headquarters in Chicago where he was responsible for Institutional Equity Research sales throughout the midwestern United States. Prior to joining Morningstar he was head of Midwest Institutional Sales at DeMatteo Monness (DM), a boutique broker/dealer. He joined DM in 2006 via a lift-out of the Investment Management Research Services division at Round Table Group, where he was co-founder and Managing Director. In other previous roles, Grabow worked with JP Morgan & Co. (Private Bank), Merrill Lynch Asset Management and spent nearly 4 years in the former Soviet Union where he helped start several businesses. He is an Honorably Discharged Officer in the United States Navy and a graduate of the University of Colorado (BS) and the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business (MBA).

Grabow is a Licensed Representative with Morningstar Investment Management Asia Limited, a licensed corporation with the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission and with Morningstar Investment Adviser Singapore Pte. Limited, a licensed corporation with the Monetary Authority of Singapore.   

Ken Han

Institutional ETF Trader


Ken Han is responsible for the relations with external counterparties and institutional investors across the region. He is responsible for pricing global ETFs directly to institutional investors of all sizes across Asia.

Prior to joining Flow Traders, Ken has held roles in Singapore and Hong Kong at a global investment bank, providing banking solutions to Financial Institutions across Asia.

Alicia García Herrero

Chief Economist, Asia Pacific


Alicia García Herrero is the Chief Economist for Asia Pacific at Natixis. She also serves as Senior Fellow at European think-tank BRUEGEL and non-resident Research Fellow at Madrid-based political think tank Real Instituto Elcano. She is currently Adjunct Professor at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and member of the advisory board of Berlin-based China think-tank MERICS. Finally, Alicia is advisor to the Hong Kong Monetary Authority’s research arm (HKIMR) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) as well as a member of the board of the Hong Kong Forum and co-founder of Bright Hong Kong.

In previous years, Alicia held the following positions: Chief Economist for Emerging Markets at Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA), Member of the Asian Research Program at the Bank of International Settlements (BIS), Head of the International Economy Division of the Bank of Spain, Member of the Counsel to the Executive Board of the European Central Bank,

Head of Emerging Economies at the Research Department at Banco Santander, and Economist at the International Monetary Fund. In addition, Alicia has always combines her professional career with academia, having served as visiting Professor for John Hopkins University, China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) in Shanghai and Carlos III University in Madrid.

Alicia holds a PhD in Economics from George Washington University and has published extensively in refereed journals and books (see her publications in ResearchGate or Google Scholar. Alicia is also very active in international media (Bloomberg and CNBC among others) as well as social media (Twitter, LinkedIn and Weibo). As recognition of her leadership thoughts, Alicia has recently been nominated TOP Voices in Economy and Finance by LinkedIn.

Paul Ho

Partner, Financial Services Tax Leader



  • Paul has worked at EY in Hong Kong for over 19 years.  He provides corporate tax advisory and compliance services to both local and multinational financial services clients.
  • Paul was the 2018 Greater China Divisional President for CPA Australia and is the Chairperson for its Greater China taxation committee.  He is also a member of the taxation committee of the Alternative Investment Management Association Hong Kong Chapter.

Professional experience

  • Paul works with financial services tax professionals within the global and regional EY network to deliver seamless cross border business tax services to multinational clients. His portfolio of clients includes some of the major global market leaders in the wealth and asset management, banking and capital markets and insurance sectors.  He also has extensive experience in assisting clients to comply with HK CRS and US FATCA requirements.
David Hood

Head of iShares Global Markets Asia ex-Japan


David Hood, Director, is Head of the iShares Global Markets and Markets Coverage team for Asia ex-Japan and Australia. His team seeks to protect and grow trading in iShares ETFs by actively monitoring and improving the ETF ecosystem encompassing investors, broker-dealers, market-makers, trading venues and technology providers. The team is also responsible for delivering ETF market insights, execution and trade guidance, as well as market structure expertise to iShares clients.

David joined Barclays Global Investors (BGI) in 2008 which merged with BlackRock in 2009. Before relocating to Hong Kong in 2013, David was part of the iShares Global Markets team in Australia responsible for managing market-making and broker/dealer relationships. Prior to that, he also worked in both institutional and retail sales roles within the iShares business.

David holds a Master of Applied Finance degree from Macquarie University and a Bachelor degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of Sydney.

Tuan Huynh

Head of Wealth Discretionary and Regional CIO for Emerging Markets

Tuan Huynh is currently the Head of Wealth Discretionary and Regional Chief Investment Officer for Emerging Markets. He is responsible for all discretionary mandates such as multi-asset portfolios, fixed income portfolios and equity portfolios.

Tuan started his apprenticeship in 1993 at Deutsche Bank. Thereafter he studied Business Administration focusing on finance and banks at Düsseldorf University. During this time he had several internships in Germany at Deutsche Bank. After graduation in 1999, he started working as a portfolio manager for private clients at Deutsche Bank in Düsseldorf where he was responsible for benchmark strategies and portfolios with special directives. In April 2004, Tuan moved to Frankfurt and was responsible for benchmark portfolios and investment funds within Private Asset Management (PAM), heading a group of 4 portfolio managers with total assets under management of ca. one billion Euro. He had the responsibility for the investment performance of all benchmark portfolio strategies within Private Asset Management.

Tuan holds a diploma in economics from University of Düsseldorf, and he is a Certified European Financial Analyst.

Heejung Kim

Institutional ETF Trader


Heejung Kim joined Flow Traders in 2017. As part of its institutional ETF trading team based in Singapore, Heejung is responsible for the relations with external counterparties and institutional investors across the APAC region, pricing globally listed ETFs in all asset classes. Prior to joining Flow Traders, Heejung worked at Deutsche Bank in London, managing the sales of its physical, swap and futures based ETFs / ETCs to institutional investors in Europe. Heejung holds a bachelor's degree in Financial Economics from Columbia University in the City of New York.

Professional Experience:

Bringing over 15 years of economic research experience, Dr. Siwat is Assistant Managing Director at Kasikorn Research Centre Com, Ltd. (KR), where he specializes in regional trade and investment topics. In addition to supporting KBank executives regarding macroeconomic and industry related information in ASEAN + 3 countries, he also leads research and provides comments on economic conditions and business opportunities in the region.

Prior to joining KR, Dr. Siwat was an economist at the Fiscal Policy Office, Ministry of Finance of Thailand. In that role, he developed fiscal and legal framework for imposing fiscal discipline, and prepared the annual fiscal risk statement covering all government and quasi-fiscal activities. In addition, he has published and presented numeral research papers on Thailand’s fiscal policy.

A well trained economist, Dr. Siwat was the scholarship recipient of Thailand Ministry of Finance.

Rohit Narula

Partner, Financial Services Transaction Tax



  • Rohit is a Hong Kong based Transaction Tax Partner and is also part of EY’s Asia-Pacific Financial Services Tax Team.
  • Asia-Pacific Tax Account Leader for some of EY’s key Financial Services clients, including a leading global asset management firm.
  • He joined EY in 2012 and prior to EY he worked in the Financial Services Tax  & Regulatory Team in another Big 4 firm in Mumbai since 2005.
  • He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from University of Mumbai, India and is also a Qualified Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).


  • Rohit brings in multitude of experience in the area of tax in the Financial Services space, covering Banks, Asset Managers, Capital Market Players, Private Equity Funds, etc.
  • He has been responsible for managing various multi-jurisdictional tax projects for large foreign banking groups and capital market players.

  • Rohit has extensive experience in international and domestic taxation (in India and Hong Kong), inbound entry strategies for multinationals and outbound structuring strategies for large Asia corporates.  Rohit advises large multinationals on planning their tax strategies in Asia-Pacific. 
  • He has been involved in several buy-side and sell-side financial and tax due diligences in the Financial Services industry. 
  • In particular, he has been recently involved in a tax due diligence project for SGG’s key strategic acquisition in Singapore and Hong Kong.
  • His client portfolio includes one of the leading corporate  and investor service providers in Asia Pacific Services include tax due diligence, structuring advisory, post-transaction implementation and on-going tax compliance and advisory work.
  • His other major experiences include:
    • Structuring the sale of a mortgage loan portfolio of a UK-based bank across Asia-Pacific, including Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia from a tax perspective;
    • Structuring the sale of a personal loan portfolio of a UK-based bank across Asia-Pacific from a tax perspective;
    • Strategic acquisitions and sell offs of several brokerage companies, securities firms, insurance companies, asset management companies, etc. in Asia-Pacific, spreading over various sell-side and buy-side financial and tax due diligences.
    • Seconded to work in the tax function of a large foreign bank in India for almost a year to support the sale of the retail and wealth management business of the bank in India.  He reported to Indian Head of Tax of the bank and sat on various work streams supporting the proposed sale.

  • EY’s project lead on the consultancy study undertaken for the Hong Kong Monetary Authority that led to the legislation of the treasury center regime in Hong Kong.

Viktor Östebo

Head of Institutional ETF Trading


Viktor Östebo joined Flow Traders in 2011 and relocated to its office in Singapore in 2016. He is heading the firms Institutional Trading desk that is responsible for the relations with external counterparties and institutional investors across the region. Before relocating from Amsterdam to Singapore he spent the last five years pricing ETFs of all asset classes and from all issuers to institutional investors of all sizes across Europe.

Myung Je Park

Director, Head of iShares Distribution for China, Taiwan and Korea


Myung Je Park, Director, is a member of iShares ETF distribution team. Based in Hong Kong, Myung Je is responsible for iShares institutional, wealth and asset management business in North Asia (China, Taiwan and Korea), working closely with BlackRock's client business teams in the region. Prior to this role, Myung Je was part of Korea client business team, responsible for distributing BlacKRock Global Fund (BGF).

Myung Je's started his service with the firm in 2004, including his years with Merrill Lynch Investment Managers (MLIM), where he was responsible for institutional distribution and client education in Korea. Prior to joining BlackRock, Myung Je worked at Cho Hung Securities in Korea, responsible for equity related fixed income products sales covering institutional clients based in Hong Kong.

Myung Je holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Myong Ji University.

Chris Pigott

Head of Hong Kong ETF Services


Chris Pigott is the Head of Hong Kong ETF Services at Brown Brothers Harriman (BBH) and responsible for ETF business development in Hong Kong. In addition, he manages Investor Services relationships throughout Asia. He began his career with BBH in 2005 in the Boston office.
In 2014, Mr. Pigott was relocated to Hong Kong and was appointed as the Head of Greater China Service Delivery with responsibility for overseeing the Transfer Agency, Client Service, and the Global Tax functions in Hong Kong as well as Client Service in Beijing.

Prior to joining BBH's Hong Kong office, Mr. Pigott held various leadership roles within the Client Service Group in Boston focusing on developing the Firm's global service model and servicing cross border funds distributed in Europe and Asia.

Mr. Pigott holds a B.A. degree in Business Management from Eckerd College and received an MBA from The University of Rhode Island.

Brian Roberts

Head of Exchange Traded Products


As Head of Exchange Traded Products (ETPs), Brian Roberts is responsible for the development and management of HKEX’s exchange traded funds (ETFs) and leveraged and inverse (L&I) products, focusing on market development, client engagement and investor education. 

Brian joined in 2015 and brings over 10 years of ETF development and leadership experience to HKEX. Prior to HKEX, Brian was at Vanguard, where he was most recently Head of ETF Product Development Asia, focusing on developing their global ETF business. 

Brian holds an undergraduate degree from Purdue University and an MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management.

홍콩거래소의 거래소상장지수상품(ETP)을 담당하고 있는 브라이언 브라이언 로버츠는 ETF및 레버리지/인버스(L&I) 상품의 개발과 관리를 총괄담당하며, 시장개발, 고객과 투자자 확보 및 교육 관련 업무에 주력하고 있습니다.

브라이언 로버츠는 2015년에 홍콩거래소에 입사했으며, 10년 이상의 ETF 개발과 관리 경험을 보유하고 있습니다. 홍콩거래소 입사 전에는 뱅가드(Vanguard)에서 아시아 ETF 상품개발부를 총괄하며 글로벌 ETF 비즈니스 개발 업무를 수행한 바 있습니다.

Tohru Sasaki

Managing Director, Head of Japan Markets Research


Mr. Tohru Sasaki is a Managing Director and Head of Japan Markets Research with JPMorgan Chase Bank, Tokyo. Prior to joining JPMorgan in April 2003, he held several positions with Bank of Japan, where he had worked since 1992. Mr. Sasaki served as a BOJ Representative of the Americas (NY office) between 2000 and 2003 where he was responsible for exchanging market information and views with Federal Reserve Bank of New York and other U.S. financial authorities. He also worked as a senior trader of the Foreign Exchange division at the Bank of Japan Tokyo office between 1994 and 1997, where his responsibilities included the execution of the foreign exchange intervention and the provision of foreign exchange market analysis to senior policymakers.

Mr. Sasaki began his career in the Research and Statistics Division at the Bank of Japan in 1992 after receiving his B.A. from Sophia University. He is a Chartered Member of the Security Analysts Association of Japan and Chartered Member of the Security Analysts Association of Japan. Mr. Sasaki is author of “Strong currency in a Weak country (in Japanese language)”, Nikkei Publishing Inc., Oct. 2011 and “Why salary increases may not be enough to beat inflation (in Japanese language)”, Diamond Inc., Apr. 2013. He ranked #1 in FX strategist ranking in the survey conducted by Nikkei in 2016, 2018 and 2019.

Thomas Taw

Vice President, Head of iShares Investment Strategy, Asia Pacific


Thomas Taw, Vice President, is the Head of Investment Strategy for BlackRock’s APAC ETF business. He is primarily responsible for formulating and disseminating actionable market insights through the use of iShares ETFs, to iShares APAC clients across asset classes in conjunction with Blackrock's Global Investment Institute. Thomas is also part of the iShares Global Markets team that works with a variety of market participants to facilitate client execution services and solutions, as well as provide specialist knowledge to develop customised trading strategies.

Prior to joining Blackrock in 2014, Thomas was responsible for trading pan-Asian equities whilst working in equity sales, trading and execution roles at Macquarie and Nomura, covering clients across the hedge fund, asset management, and institutional client base.

Thomas holds a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Business from the University of Warwick.

Takeki Yamada

Institutional ETF Trader


Takeki Yamada joined Flow Traders Asia in 2017. On the Institutional ETF Trading desk, he is responsible for the relations with external counterparties and institutional investors across the Asia region where he provides liquidity for globally listed ETFs in all asset classes. Prior to that, he started his career in Tokyo as a sales trader at Nomura Securities in 2010, covering Japanese institutional investors. In 2014 he was relocated to Instinet Europe based London where he covered European and US institutional investors for European and global equities. He has a master's degree in Information Science and Technology at Hokkaido University.

Daniel Yoo

Global Strategist, Head of Global Research


Daniel Yoo, is currently serving as "Global Strategist, Head of Global Research" for Kiwoom Securities in Korea. He also served as “Head of Global Wealth Management” for Kiwoom Securities. Before Kiwoom, he served as Head of Research/PM for Woori Investment Advisory, Beijing, and Woori Absolute Partners, Singapore. Mr. Yoo has 26 years of investment and equity-linked analyst research experience (as Head of research, strategist, sector analyst and stock analyst), with a specific focus on Asian markets (specifically China and Korea), including 6 years of equity research experience with Morgan Stanley and Citigroup Investment Research. His experience in investing and researching the Chinese and Korean market includes his previous position as Head of Research of WAP, Chief Investment Officer & Head of Research of JED VGQA (a Korean focused hedge fund) in addition to his previous position as Director, Strategist and Head of Research for Citigroup Investment Research (Korea). Mr. Yoo’s previous roles also include Head of Financials Research for Morgan Stanley (Korea) and Deputy Head of Research for CLSA Korea. He holds a BSE degree from the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania.

Dohei Echizenya

Dohei Echizenya is Department Head of ETF Business in Japan. Prior to joining BlackRock, Dohei was at Metzler Asset Management in Tokyo after 10 years with Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs in New York as institutional sales at equity division.

Wataru Asano

Director, Global Markets & Products, ETF Business Group

Wataru Asano is a member of ETF Business in Japan, responsible for the Global Markets & Products function. He is responsible for delivering market insights, execution services, and product structure expertise to iShares clients and managing the distribution channels with partner broker dealers. He works with other Capital Markets members throughout the region and globally to jointly maintain the liquidity, tax efficiency and performance standards for iShares ETFs. 

Prior to joining BlackRock, Wataru was a Vice President in the Portfolio Trading team at J.P.Morgan, responsible for trading and distribution of equities to Japanese and global asset managers.  He also worked at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein as an index arbitrage trader, focusing on Asia Pacific equity indices.

Natsuko Matsumura

Natsuko Matsumura is a member of ETF Business in Japan, responsible for sales and distribution of iShares ETFs to large financial institutions in Japan. She joined BlackRock in August 2014.

Prior to BlackRock, she worked for State Street Global Advisors (SSgA) Japan as ETF Sales & Marketing from 2013 to 2014. She was responsible for promoting SSgA's SPDR ETF to both retail & institutional investors. Prior to SSgA, she spent 8 years at Daiwa Securities where she worked as Asian Equity Sales to institutional investors in Milan, London and Tokyo.

Natsukos earned a BA in Economics at Waseda University, Tokyo.

Anthony Arthur

Director, Head of iShares Asia ex-Japan Wealth Distribution


Anthony Arthur, Director, is Head of iShares Asia ex Japan Wealth Distribution, covering iShares ETF distribution to global private banks. Prior to this role, Anthony was a member of the Asia Pacific corporate communications team, leading media relations for

BlackRock’s ETF and Index business, as well as the Trading & Liquidity Strategies Group and Strategic Product Management divisions, across the region.

Prior to joining BlackRock in August 2013, Anthony was a Senior Director in Strategic Communications at FTI Consulting, Hong Kong, where he advised financial services companies on their communications strategies. Previously, Anthony worked for MHP Consulting (and its founding agency; The Hogarth Partnership) in London, advising on media relations for financial services organisations such as Lazard, Rabobank, Robeco and Record Currency Management, as well as capital markets communications, including M&A and fundraising divisions for listed corporates.

Anthony holds a Bachelor degree in History from Royal Holloway, University of London.
