Generating Alpha Using ETFs

Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) have seen an explosion in popularity globally over the last five years, by December 2017 there were over 5,000 ETFs with assets worth over US$4.5 trillion. Until relatively recently ETFs were popular in mainly North American and European markets. However, the appeal of trading low-cost, liquid, tax efficient and diversified funds with access to new markets is rising among investors in Asia Pacific.

Building on the success of last year's ETF Forum series, the programme has extended into a full-day event discussing latest market trends and opportunities in enhancing portfolio returns with ETFs.

Join us and have your top questions answered:

  • Hear from economists and strategists: How volatility would look in a post QE era? How to navigate the market with increasing uncertainties?
  • China's growth story and opportunity: What challenges investors are facing? How to access China? What are the tools and instruments available? How to position investment portfolios in a bull market? How to hedge risks in times of volatility?
  • An ETF is as liquid as its underlying securities: How to estimate the depth of liquidity in ETF market? How to access liquidity directly and efficiently?
  • How ETF product structure impacts return? When and how to execute trading? What are the effective trading strategies?
  • How is the factor index landscape evolving? Why and how smart beta strategies work in Asian markets?
  • How investment managers are adopting AI and technology to identify opportunities in the market and improve trading efficiencies?

We look forward to welcoming you and your colleagues in the expert discussion on unlocking the value of ETFs in our Asia series.
